Rick Jey pulls the archive file on Artist Dan Woodward of Rolla, Missouri to share with the viewer, Dan's story and to share some of his artistic works. Dan was recognized nationally (USA) for completing a commision work where the US Government retained his artistic skills to paint the US Civil War battles...those that took place West of the Mississippi River. This led to extensive travels to many states and the setting up of a battle scene using actors to give him a perspective of how the battle looked and how he should sketch/paint battle. Dan has since then, been recognized for his continued works and still maintains an active part of the Missouri State Art Community...and more. Enjoy!
Rick Jey pulls out an archive file of an interview with Artist David Plank of Salem Missouri. David Plank was first nationally recognized for painting "The Birds of Arkansas" and producing a book of such in the 1970's, then, produced a second book which presented paintings of "The Birds of Missouri".Since the 1970's David has continued painting and sharing his works through various venues nationwide. His works will be archived in the Missouri State Historical building in Columbia joining other greats like Thomas Hart Benton and more. Enjoy this interview which begins out on the White River Streak just South of Salem where the "Trail of Tears" found many Native Americans on their way...forced from their lands into Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and more.

Artist Dan Woodward supports artists from all over the USA now and locally around his home in Rolla, Missouri. Dan was commissioned by the US government to illustrate the Civil War Battles West of the Mississippi a few years ago to gain a following of his art. Each location featured a re-enactment setting enabling Dan the opportunity to produce the enactments in watercolors to a degree of perfection. The men who played in the League were heroes in that era of segregation.
